Jump Coaster is a platform arcade game that was released by Kaneko in 1983 and licensed to Taito Corporation for American manufacture and distribution; it utilizes a Zilog Z80 microprocessor (running at: 3.072 MHz), with two General Instrument AY-3-8910s running at 1.536 MHz for sound. The player must use a 4-way joystick, to take control of a caped man (who looks somewhat like both The Scarlet Pimpernel, and one of The Three Musketeers), with a single button to make him jump, and he is on a mission to rescue his girlfriend from a gang of monkeys who are fooling around on four rollercoasters - and, the gameplay is very similar to that of Nintendo's Donkey Kong, because your character has to make it to the top of the screen without getting hit (lest he get killed and have to start the stage over), to save his girlfriend (who is held in a gondola for the first two stages, a balloon for the third, and in a switch for the fourth), and the main antagonists are simians. Other enemies include: security guards, static bananas and static apples (this must be one of very few games where items of fruit are bad for the player); however, small money bags are worth 200-500 points, while large ones are worth 10000.
