Your classmates are all now stuck in this unfamiliar world. Moments before you descend onto the Light Plane, we see Cassis and Cidre squabble elsewhere, and the former runs off to rescue an endangered Chocolat. Let's worry about that later, though, because it's your job to reunite everyone!

Taking inventory[edit]

You gracefully land in Mimolette Forest, which lies at the northernmost point of the Light Plane. Within this little area, you'll find a couple of pots, a chest, and an object.

  • The green pot is an HP Pot, whose rainwater you can drink for free to fully replenish your HP.
  • The orange pot is an MP Pot, which fully restores MP at the cost of one green frog.
  • The chest contains one depoison tail.
  • The object is actually a spirit in disguise! The type of spirit depends on what element you chose at the start of the game, so give it a green frog to have it join your ranks. By casting your "call [spirit]" spell in combat, this spirit will pop onto the battlefield and can boost a spell of the same element.

Proceeding west, you bump into Pistachio by a riverbank. Before he's able to calm down, another piskapook leaps in and battles you. By invoking your spirit, it'll take no more than a few turns to pummel the enigma! Pistachio scurried to the river, but take this opportunity to grab items in the area. Be sure to pick up the leaves hidden in the grass patches, too!

Best friends unite![edit]

About Pistachio
Pistachio's spirit is wood, which can weaken enemies' spirit (magic defense). He isn't very strong at the moment, so keep him safe in the back row. If you use an HP Pot with Pistachio present, he'll find three gummy frogs inside. Luckily, obtaining frogs this way doesn't affect the recruitment of love spirits!

Up on a log bridge, you see Pistachio playing dead in front of the giant rat Demissus. Agree to help him, and he'll team up with you to take down Demissus—your first real boss. Its spirit is beast, able to cast the unique spell "earthquake" to damage the whole field. Thankfully, Pistachio's wood magic is strong against beast enemies like Demissus, making this fight a total breeze.

New world, new tricks[edit]

After the fight, follow the trail east. Do not take Pistachio's advice of catching gummy frogs, since that locks you out of getting love spirits. Instead, approach the islet in the river to find a wood spirit, to whom you must give a pinecone. Be sure to collect as many pinecones as you can throughout your journey, since that's what makes wood spirits appear! Moreover, Pistachio can teach you about equipping magic once the wood spirit is recruited, which earns you an entry for the magic notebook (19).

At the edge of the forest, there's a blue hat lying on the ground. Interact with the hat to summon Pizza, a boy from four-dimensional space who runs the Warp Shop. He happily gives you the map of light, a map of the Light Plane that you can access from the menu. By giving Pizza 5 pinecones at various locations, he'll mark a Warp Point on the map which you can teleport to from anywhere, so long as you're on the same plane as that location (interplanar warping becomes accessible later on). If you spot Pizza's hat and you're loaded with pinecones, you'd best have a Warp Point registered right away!

Next to Pizza is the entrance to Forest Cave. Pistachio claims to be picking up Arancia's scent, meaning she and some other students may have gone in. Looks like you're one step closer to bringing the class back together!
