The top pair of legs are used for striking while the bottom pair are used for walking. They tend to stand still and in plain sight until approached and then they start to attack. In the first Silent Hill, the nurses were possessed by the same parasite as the doctors, attacked with syringes, and were dressed in somewhat old-fashioned attire. However, in Silent Hill 2, the nurses wear suggestive outfits, wield lead pipes and have heads that are devoid of any facial features that twitch rapidly. Fans have taken to calling this version the "Bobble Head Nurse". In Silent Hill 3, the nurses all have the same bizarre, badly made-up face, and some also carry revolvers.

Gods in Silent Hill

  • The God - The unnamed God worshipped by the Silent Hill cult was, according to scripture, born from two humans and brought an end to the suffering of ancient man by taking away eternal life from humankind. She created two or more other gods to serve her, but died soon after, before She could create "Paradise". In Silent Hill 3, the Claudia Wolf invoked the power of the God, but was soon killed by Heather.
  • Lobsel Vith - Was the yellow god born from the God to watch over mankind. Lobsel Vith does not appear in any of the games. Lobsel Vith has been rumoured to be Valtiel from Silent Hill 3, however this is fairly unlikely.
  • Samael - Name commonly mistaken as belonging to the Winged Demon at the end of Silent Hill 1. Samael, to the extent that we know, is a gigantic red herring. Dahlia tells Harry that the cryptic mark seen in the darker parts of town is that of Samael. This information is misleading, and is intended to make Harry view the ghost-like Alessa as an enemy, a demon in child's form. At the end of the game, Dahlia reveals her deception, and in Silent Hill 3, Heather discovers the true nature of the "Mark of Samael", which is the Virun VII Crest. Samael, for the purpose of the game series, does not exist.
  • Xuchilbara - Was the red god born from the God to watch over mankind. Xulchilbara does not appear in any of the games. It has been rumoured that Xulchilbara is actually Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2, possibly due to his first appearance in the game, where he has an ominous blood red glow. This is unlikely, however, because it was specifically stated by Konami that Pyramid Head was a creation of James' psyche.
