The second sports game in Tecmo's "Gekitou!!" series, following [[Gekitou Pro Wrestling!! Toukon Densetsu]] released in the same year. The control system is almost the same as Namco's [[Pro Yakyuu Family Stadium]] (1986) and Taito's [[Kyuukyoku Harikiri Stadium]] (1988), both of which are predecessors. A pioneering point is that it is possible to make fine plays such as diving catches, and the introduction of the defensive power by position of catcher, first baseman, second baseman, third baseman, shortstop, and outfielder and the strength of the shoulder when throwing the ball for each player.
The game is notable in that it features heavy anime influences, as seen in the in-game cutscenes. After home runs and during close plays in the field, cutscenes occur, showing the action. Also of note are the bunny umpires, and attention to detail in the rosters. Teams and players are modeled after MLB teams, complete with similar color schemes and player attributes.

Bad News Baseball, originally released as Gekitou!! Stadium (激闘スタジアム Gekitou Sutajiamu?, lit. "Fierce Fighting!! Stadium") in Japan, is a baseball game for the NES developed and published by Tecmo in 1989. The goal for players was to defeat every other team in the game. Gameplay could continue indefinitely until this occurred.

The second sports game in Tecmo's "Gekitou!!" series, following Gekitou Pro Wrestling!! Toukon Densetsu released in the same year. The control system is almost the same as Namco's Pro Yakyuu Family Stadium (1986) and Taito's Kyuukyoku Harikiri Stadium (1988), both of which are predecessors.
