Mario's Picross

Mario's Picross is a puzzle game released for the Game Boy handheld that can also be played with enhanced graphics using the Super Game Boy cartridge for the Super Nintendo. The game features four picross courses, with each course having 64 different puzzles for the player to solve. The two most difficult courses are initially locked, but can be unlocked individually by fully completing a previous picross course. A "How to Play" tutorial is also available to teach the basics of picross solving.

Picross (picture crossword) or nonogram puzzles feature a grid with numbers above each column and to the left of each row. These numbers define the groups of cells that are part of the solution to the puzzle, but not their position in the row or column. Using logic, the player must determine what cells to chisel with respect to the numbers given. The solution, which is typically a picture of some sort, is found when all of the correct cells have been chiseled.
