Two years after the incident at Shadow Moses, Revolver Ocelot got his hands on the schematics for Metal Gear REX and sold them to the highest bidder. Now, nearly everyone has their own version of Metal Gear. Solid Snake, now a member of an anti-Metal Gear faction known as "Philanthropy", infiltrates a US Marine Corps tanker to secure photographic evidence that the Marines are working on a version of Metal Gear designed to destroy all the other Metal Gears. But Snake isn't the only one after the new Metal Gear.
