Revision as of 05:30, 30 August 2014

Remember, the bottom row is r1 and the left column is c1.

Puzzle 5-1

Puzzle 5-1

Moves required: 2

If the 5 greens were to form a vertical 5 combo, the middle would have to be placed last. If that isn't possible, you may need to consider a different formation.

Solution

If you make move 2 first, you must make move 1 before the reds finish clearing.

  1. Move the second green from the bottom in either direction. (r2,c34) or (r2,c45)
  2. Move the middle green in the opposite direction as move 1. (r3,c45) or (r3,c34)

Puzzle 5-2

Puzzle 5-2

Moves required: 3

There aren't any decent vertical match possibilities. What does that mean?

Solution

You can make move 3 before move 2 if you make the final move before the greens clear.

  1. Move the bottom purple tile left... (r3,c45)
  2. Twice. (r3,c34)
  3. Move the top green tile right. (r3,c56)

Puzzle 5-3

Puzzle 5-3

Moves required: 3

If you move instinctually, you'll probably run into a timing issue. How can you adjust the positioning to have everything line up?

Solution

There are two ways to line everything up. If you move the yellow tile, you may make move 3 earlier as long as you make the other two moves before the tiles clear.

  1. Move either of the left dark blue tiles OR the left yellow tile to the left. (r3,c23), (r4,c23), or (r5,c23)
  2. Move whatever tile you just dropped down to the right. (r1,c23)
  3. Make the blue matches. (r2,c34)

Puzzle 5-4

Puzzle 5-4

Moves required: 3

The way the matches clear here will be very symmetrical. You may want to think about the columns tiles need to be in.

Solution

The first two may be done in either order. The last move may be done earlier, but only if the others happen before the blocks finish clearing.

  1. Switch the red and yellow tiles. (r4,c34)
  2. Switch the blue and red tiles. (r5,c45)
  3. Switch the purple and blue tiles. (r2,c34)

Puzzle 5-5

Puzzle 5-5

Moves required: 5

The puzzle starts symmetrical (if you relate the yellow to the red anyway), so it feels like you should make symmetrical moves. Unfortunately, that either creates a timing issue or too many moves. If you've come up with numerous ways to line things up, try doing one method with one half while doing another method with the other half.

Solution

If waiting until clearing is completed before making the next move, then moves 1 and 2 may be switched, and/or moves 4 and 5 may be switched. If you want to be fast and fancy, there are additional orders: Move 3 could be done earlier, but 1 and 2 must both happen before the first set of tiles clear. Move 5 may be done earlier, but the later of moves 5 and 1 must occur after move 3 has begun. Move 4 must wait until the dark blue panels on the right have matched. All of these overall sets of 5 moves may also be done mirrored.

  1. Switch the bottom red to the right, lining up the light blues on the left side. (r2,c23)
  2. Switch the right of the top light blue panels to the right, lining up both the light and dark blues on the right side. (r5,c45)
  3. Switch the yellow panel right so that the right half clears. (r4,c45)
  4. Switch the bottom dark blue panel right, lining up the dark blues on the left side. (r1,c23)
  5. Switch the middle red and green panels. (r3,c23)

Puzzle 5-6

Puzzle 5-6

Moves required: 3

There's a color that is so spaced out, you'll have to concentrate your moves only on it.

Solution

Moves 1 and 2 must be in order, while move 3 can be done at any time.

  1. Move the right purple to the left. (r4,c45)
  2. Move that same purple left again. (r2,c34)
  3. Move the top left purple to the right. (r4,c12)

Puzzle 5-7

Puzzle 5-7

Moves required: 3

Do some counting, and figure out which formation you need.

Solution

The first two can be in either order.

  1. Move the bottom red to the left. (r1,c12)
  2. Move the middle blue to the left. (r3,c34)
  3. Move the bottom right green to the left. (r1,c45)

Puzzle 5-8

Puzzle 5-8

Moves required: 3

Definitely think about what needs to be in what columns, but even with horizontal matches, this is not one where layers applies.

Solution

Move 1 must be before 2, but 3 can happen anytime.

  1. Move the bottom right green panel to the right. (r2,c45)
  2. Switch the middle blue panel with the yellow to its right. (r2,c34)
  3. Switch the bottom blue and red panels. (r1,c34)

Puzzle 5-9

Puzzle 5-9

Moves required: 3

If you could just get rid of one color, this would be really easy. So your goal is to move that color so you can do that.

Solution
  1. Move the bottom dark blue to the right. (r1,c45)
  2. Move the middle dark blue to the right. (r2,c34)
  3. Switch the middle yellow and light blue panels. (r2,c23)

Puzzle 5-10

Puzzle 5-10

Moves required: 3

Yellow and blue can get confusing, but purple really doesn't have many options.

Solution
  1. Switch the top left yellow to the right. (r3,c34)
  2. Switch the yellow between purples to the left... (r1,c34)
  3. Twice. (r1,c23)

Puzzle 6-1

Puzzle 6-1

Moves required: 3

If you got close, maybe you need to break a move up into two parts.

Solution
  1. Switch the red and dark blue panels. (r3,c23)
  2. Move either of the left green panels to the left. (r1,c12) or (r2,c12)
  3. Switch the left red panel with its light blue neighbor. (r2,c23)

Puzzle 6-2

Puzzle 6-2

Moves required: 3

Start with what columns the minor colors need to be in, since they give you fewer options. Don't be afraid to make an early match, because even if it doesn't work, you may figure out what you should have done.

Solution

The first two moves may be swapped. If you make move 3 earlier, you have to make sure move 1 is done by the time the first match clears and move 2 is done by the time the light blue match clears.

  1. Switch the very top two panels. (r7,c23)
  2. Move either of the right purples to the right (this seems to be another theme...). (r1,c45) or (r2,c45)
  3. Switch the top light blue panel to the right. (r5,c23)

Puzzle 6-3

Puzzle 6-3

Moves required: 4

My, that 9 is so tempting... but you know better by this point! So keep in mind blue has to be cleared in two chunks, and then you might want to look at those yellows.

Solution

Using non-rushed moves, you can change some orders around with the following restrictions: move 1 must happen before moves 3 and 4, and move 2 must happen before move 4. And of course understand that making move 3 at a different point will affect which rows the move can take place in, as there has to be a green switching with nothing. If you want, you can make move 4 before 2, but 2 has to happen by the time the initial match clears.

  1. Switch the top yellow to the right. (r4,c34)
  2. Switch the left green to the left. (r1,c12)
  3. Move either of the two stacked greens to the left. (r2,c23) or (r3,c23)
  4. Make the red combo. (r3,c45)

Puzzle 6-4

Puzzle 6-4

Moves required: 4

It's a little bit like 4-5, and also a little bit like 4-4.

Solution
  1. Take the left of the bottom yellows and move it left once... (r1,c34)
  2. Twice... (r1,c23)
  3. And three times. (r1,c12)
  4. Now switch the middle blue and red panels. (r2,c23)

Puzzle 6-5

Puzzle 6-5

Moves required: 4

First think about blue, then think about red.

Solution

Moves 2-4 have to be in that order, but move 1 can happen anytime before move 4.

  1. Slide the bottom of the leftmost blue panels to the left. (r2,c12)
  2. Slide the rightmost red panel to the right. (r4,c34)
  3. Take that same red panel and move it left... (r2,c34)
  4. Twice. (r2,c23)
