Name | Description |

Armory | Researches improvements in weapons and armor for military units, including ships and buildings with attack capabilities. Thor has a special armory. |
Dock | Build ships and research improvements to them. |
Farm | Provides unlimited food, but it takes time to gather the food. Food is gathered more quickly if the farm is built near the Town Center or a Granary. |
Gate | Allows allied units access to come and go through a wall. |
House | Supports ten units of population. After ten houses have been built, population must be expanded by building new Town Centers. |
Market | Creates trade caravans and allows resources to be bought and sold. Allows research to increase profits or reduce cost of market transactions. |
Sentry Tower | Extends line of sight to reveal enemy units and other activity. Can also be upgraded to fire upon enemy units. |
Town Center | Trains villagers and hero units, stores resources, and otherwise acts as the hub of a city. Additional Town Centers can be built starting in the Heroic Age. |
Temple | Trains myth units and researches mythological improvements. Favor is required to train myth units, and each civilization gains favor in its own way. |
Walls | Walls can be upgraded to stone, fortified, or citadel (Egyptian only) to increase their strength. |
Wonder | Wonders proclaim the glory of the civilization that builds them. The result of building a wonder is dependent on the game type. |

Storehouse | Drop-site for wood and gold, increases productivity of nearby wood cutters and gold mines. Improvements to mining and wood gathering are researched here. |
Stable | Trains cavalry and counter-cavalry units, improvements to these units may also be researched here. |

Lumber Camp | Drop-site for wood. Improves logging in nearby forests and allows research of improvements to logging. |
Migdol Stronghold | Trains chariots, camelry, and war elephants; improvements to these units may be researched ehre. Also fires arrows at enemy units and can be used to garrison units. |
Mining Camp | Drop-site for gold. Improves efficiency of nearby gold mines and allows research of improvements to mining. |
Monument | Generates favor. Up to five can be built to improve the rate at which favor is generated. |
Obelisk | It is summoned by the Priests of Egypt to reveal a small area of the map. |
Siege Works | Builds powerful siege weapons and allows for research into improvements in siege weaponry. |

Ox Cart | Mobile drop-site that collects food, wood, and gold. Improves speed of collecting nearby resources, but counts against the population limit. It is slow-moving and very vulnerable to attack. |
