Meet Biscotti, Kovomaka's master magician.

Welcome to the world of Magical Vacation! This game's universe is chock-full of rich and fascinating history, and you, the protagonist, are no exception! You used to live in a village on the outskirts of Kovomaka Kingdom, born with the power to see elemental spirits. Sadly, the locals didn't take too kindly to that, but Principal Biscotti of Will-o'-Wisp Academy paid you a visit and invited you to enroll in his school. He's quite the hot-shot around here, having introduced magical concepts to Kovomaka Kingdom and founding the academy long ago!

Fledgling magicians[edit]

Take attendance!
Since you have a bit of time to kill before the bus takes off, why not talk to your classmates and get to know them better?

You start in Will-o'-Wisp Academy's meditation room, and are introduced to a handful of your classmates right off the bat: Pistachio, Kirsche, Sesame, Blueberry, Lemon, and Candy. Everyone seems pretty excited for the upcoming camping trip to, all for their own reasons. Some want to train their abilities, while others are keen on building relationships with their classmates. Who knows just what'll happen this summer!

Once you're ready to progress, exit the meditation room and enter the academy's entrance hall. You'll be met by an ecstatic Pêche, who tells you that your class will be taking a special magic bus to Valencia Beach! Just then, Café au Lait bursts out of the music room upstairs and bolts outside, exclaiming some students were telling scary stories. Better hurry up and track down your classmates before Pêche blows a gasket...

Round up your friends[edit]

Gear up
To the left of the music room is a small library, which is littered with chests. The chests contain each of the five equipment types and healing items. Atop a shelf is a love seal, which restores 1 HP per turn when worn. All these items are missable!!

As you enter the music room, you will find Cassis, Cidre, Olive, and Arancia. They appear to be discussing rumors about students disappearing at past camping trips. Although Cidre denies these rumors, Olive mentions that Ganache's older sister attended the Seaside School three years ago and went missing later on. By talking to the four students, they join your party. Cidre asks you whether you believe the rumors to be true, though he joins regardless of your answer.

Next, go back downstairs and go to the west room. There, you'll find Cabernet reminiscing about his late brother Chardonnay, a soldier of the royal army who died in action last year. In a flashback sequence, we see Chardonnay trying to talk things out with Vanilla, but is given the cold shoulder as she walks away. Everyone assures Cabernet that he can find peace at the Seaside School, to which he joins your party.

You're in good hands[edit]

Academy faculty
Madeleine's not the only teacher here. According to Brownie Brown, Will-o'-Wisp Academy has 120 faculty members and 6000 enrolled students! Think of it like a university in this world.

If you go to the eastern room, you can listen in on a conversation between your teacher Miss Madeleine and Principal Biscotti. Madeleine seems a bit apprehensive about supervising the sixteen of you, but Biscotti proclaims she will do just fine. By talking to Madeleine, she asks you to join everyone on the bus, while Biscotti wishes you have a wonderful time at camp. Since you've rounded up the remaining students, go back to the entrance hall and head south to the courtyard.

Sanctuary[edit]

Nighthawk lore
Ganache and Vanilla are descended from necromancers who lived in a country west of Kovomaka. Even though necromancy was abandoned, the public is still generally opposed to dark magic, hence why the Nighthawks are so reserved.

Before you can sit comfortably on the magic bus, Biscotti appears out of nowhere and gives your class one simple order: Should anyone return to Will-o'-Wisp before the end of the summer, they shall face immediate expulsion! Sheesh, he sure is serious about your magical training... Biscotti leaves right as Madeleine pushes Chocolat onto the bus, and your darling teacher begins taking attendance. However, Ganache is absent, so Olive and Candy run off to find him, but Madeleine only lets Olive go.

Olive spots Ganache playing his harmonica by a riverbed, though he almost believes it is Vanilla calling out to him. Ganache is reluctant to go to Valencia Beach, when Olive suddenly has a premonition, in which everyone suddenly vanishes. Determined they can find answers regarding Vanilla's disappearance, they hurry back to the bus. Everyone's on board now, so Madeleine hands out magic notebooks. Throughout the story, and by talking to certain characters, new entries get added to the magic notebook that cover all sorts of in-game mechanics.

With that all said and done, the bus driver Balsamico kicks it into second gear and burns rubber to Valencia Beach! ...But not before driving straight into the school's front gate. Oh well, enjoy some juicy gossip and the gorgeous sunset on your cruise to the coast!
