The Nintendo DS console has four directions that can be pressed on the D-pad and eight buttons. All of them are used in Pokémon Conquest.

The start button opens up the menu where you can view and change various settings like warriors you have met, Pokémon you have befriended, game options, save etc.

It opens up a list of all warriors that can currently be found in Ransei, including yours, enemies', and neutral warriors.
|

It is used to go to the next month.
|
|
Used to move the cursor around.
|
|
When it is pressed, while the cursor is placed over a kingdom, it displays the kingdom menu.
|
|
When this button is pressed, the cursor moves back to the kingdom that the main Warlord is in.

Opens up the menu.

Allows you to view special Pokémon that were brought to the region as a result of some activities.

It is used to go to the next month.

Enters the area that is chosen.

It is used to return to the world map.

During Battle[edit]

Allows you to switch between allied and enemy Pokémon information.

Zoom out/Zoom in.

Rotates the camera at 90 degrees.

When no Pokémon is selected it is used to end the turn and when some Pokémon is selected it is used to use the Warrior skill (if available).

Used to move the cursor around.

Used to select a Pokémon, Attack, Item etc.

Go back.

When a Pokémon is selected it is used to switch between a Warrior or a Warrior's Pokémon's information.
