The Red Dozers' Training Course is an optional area where you can practice different drill techniques. Go up the slope and get the 2nd gear. Drill through the time blocks and pick up the 3rd gear. When you get to the time blocks with gaps between them, shift up to 3rd gear on the first block and hold 
to drill through to each next block. Repeat for the next set of time blocks.
In the next room, shift up to 3rd gear in drill ducts and maintain it to go across gaps. Use 
for red drill ducts and 
for blue drill ducts.
The next room has screw gates that you need to move with the drill. Use to screw in a screw and to unscrew a screw. After some time the screw gates will return to their original position.
There is a puzzle with a piece missing in the middle. Jump up the platforms on the right and pick up the puzzle piece on the desk with 
. Return to the puzzle and press again to place the piece. This will remove the fish block on the right.
In the next room, drill into jelly blocks and kick back to reach platforms. The jelly block above the platform that is moving up and down requires shifting up to 3rd gear. Down the slope is a series of jelly blocks that require alternating kick back and drilling in the opposite direction to reach the top. Jump up toward the first jelly block and repeat the following inputs 
. Swapping and also works.
The last room has socket lifts that carry you on a path when you drill into them. Press or to move to the other side. If you stop drilling you will fall out. At the end is a 
chest that contains 150 chips. Go right to leave the area.
