Activating the Dueling Peaks Tower

If you go to the Ja Baij Shrine, climb over the east wall, and climb up the battlement, you can get a Soldier's Broadsword. This is useful if you glide from the tower and land in the midst of the Moblins. If you glide from the broadsword's location, you will reach a path. South goes to a large bridge and a Bokoblin fortress. North goes to the Moblins. Follow it north until you spot a stone tower on the right. Climb the tower, grab the Sapphire at the top, and glide east. You will come to a small bridge and the Bosh Kala Shrine. Activate the shrine so that you can escape ambush without losing all forward progress.

As you cross Proxim Bridge, you will meet a man who will warn you about Guardians. There are some Bokoblins on the right, beyond the fire with the covering. If you throw a bomb at them, you can blow them into the water, where they will drown. The chest contains an Opal. The Blue Bokoblin has rather strong weapons, so a frontal assault is best avoided until he is dead. Follow the path until you get to the giant fallen tree. Climb the stump and keep going following the edge of the hill until you get to another stone tower. Glide to it from the hill to make sure you have enough stamina. The chest at the top contains a Silver Rupee. From here, you can see a Bokoblin camp next to the river behind a hill. Glide to the hill and throw bombs at them to detonate their explosive barrels. If you have not had a Blood Moon yet, you may want to wait until it occurs. Blood Moons return all dead enemies to life, but they do not heal damaged enemies.

The small peninsula upstream would be a good place to cross except for the Bokoblin camp on the opposite side. To avoid it, climb the mountain (going around the camp on this side) and glide to the other side. If you spot a pinwheel on the hill before the mountain, you can get a Korok seed by shooting the three balloons. This is a good time to visit the Ree Dahee shrine. When you activate the tower, you will get the Sheikah Sensor. It will only detect shrines at this point.

Dueling Peaks Stable

As the crow flies, it is shorter to go around the west side of the peaks. However, an Octorok will attack you at a point where you will need to climb across a gap. If you have not reached the Ree Dahee shrine, visit it now. If you get the Climber's Bandanna, remember to equip it for an extra three defense. If you have visited it, fast travel there. Then continue on next to the river. The suspicious pile or rocks hides a chest with a Traveler's Bow. The Bokoblins ahead can kill you with a single hit. Climb to the ledge before you reach them, then use bombs to blow them up. You might detonate some explosive barrels to speed up the process. The giant horse head you can see from here indicates the Dueling Peaks Stable. (You can get a Korok Seed if you climb to the nose and examine the pinwheel.) The bridge on the right has an Octorok guard. You can hit it with an arrow and swim out to get the loot. The Ha Dahamar Shrine is initially protected by spikes. You can climb the mountain behind it and glide in or freeze a pillar nearby and jump over the spikes. The spikes will disappear when you complete the shrine.

The Road North

When you reach Kakariko Bridge, you will notice a large rock to the right. If you look carefully, you can see a cooking pot under the bridge next to it. Behind the two metal boxes is a chest with five Ice Arrows. After the bridge, you will encounter Hestu, the "tree ghost" that you may have heard of if you have been talking to travelers. He will give you a sidequest. If you have Korok Seeds, you can upgrade your inventory size. You may want to find more Korok Seeds before giving Hestu one, since he will return to the Korok Forest afterward. Continue along the road. The gates indicate the start of Kakariko Village.

Meeting Impa

Impa's house has two guards in front of it. After they recognize you, you can get through to the door. It will trigger a cutscene when you open it. Talk to her again to trigger another (repeatable) cutscene. You will get the quests "Free The Divine Beasts" and "Locked Mementos." North of Kakariko Village you will find the Ta'loh Naeg Shrine. Visit it so that you can get back quickly.
