Castlevania Legends is the only game in the series to star a female Belmont: Sonia, the mother of Trevor (the main character of Castlevania 3). Alucard, the son of Dracula, would also appear, playing a supporting role.
Castlevania Legends is the only game in the series to star a female Belmont, in the form of Sonia. Within the Legends universe, Sonia is the mother of Trevor Belmont from Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, which places Castlevania Legends some time in the early-to-mid-1400s. Castlevania Legends was original designed as an origin story for the feud between the Belmont Clan and Dracula, however, with the release of Castlevania: Lament of Innocence six years later in 2003, Koji Igarashi removed Castlevania Legends from the canon timeline.

This game was removed from the official continuity, and replaced by Castlevania: Lament of Innocence.
