The Archer is the ranged attacker, using bows to deal physical damage while not actually being in melee combat. The only other weapon an Archer can equip is a dagger (typically used to save arrows). The Archer has the least complicated set of skills for first jobs as well. That, combined with stat distribution simplicity, makes training Archers easier. The long range capabilities of bows also allow Archers to "snipe" targets that may not even be able to reach them, resulting in speedy leveling. The downside of this, however, is the cost of arrows; Archers tend to start out poorer. Also, the jobs Archers can become upon reaching Job Lv 40 have much wider ranges of skills: the Hunter is the purely offensive path, using traps with various effects as well as a falcon to attack with; the Bard, for male characters, or Dancer, for females, can play songs or dance to produce a variety of effects, and are generally half battle and half support characters; they also have ensemble skills, which involve both a Bard and Dancer to be standing next to each other.

Shower the enemy with arrows to deal damage in a 5x5 square around the target. Enemies hit by arrow shower will also be pushed backward by 2 cells. This skill consumes 15 SP.

Double Strafe
