Goku

Portrait DBZSSW Goku.PNG

Goku, the main character of the popular anime and manga, of course makes a role as a playable character, appearing as the first option (though you don't have to play as him from the get-go). He may be referred to as Son Goku or Gokou in other region versions of the game, but he's still the same character.

Gohan

Gohan is the second main character of Supersonic Warriors and son of Goku. His story starts off with the death of Goku at the hands of Dr. Gero. Goku dies for good this time, since he can't be revived again. Gohan, angered by the death of his father, musters up the power for Super Saiyan transformation, and his first battle begins. Gohan mostly has the role of taking the place of main hero from his father throughout the story, and you also get to fight as him when he's fully-grown.

Piccolo

Dbz ssw piccolo.JPG

Piccolo isn't necessarily a Saiyan, but has equivalent powers to one, even surpassing the likes of Goku in some fields. His Ki Blast takes much less Ki to execute, but has the same power nonetheless. He works together with the Saiyans to bring peace to the planet.

Krillin

Dbz ssw krillin.JPG

Krillin is the best friend of Goku and probably the strongest human on Earth. Although he's not exactly a Saiyan and is a little less powerful, he's short and quick and has unique moves that home in on the opponent. A Ki Blast only takes about 15% Ki to execute and, even though he's not as strong as Goku, he can put up quite a fight armed with just Ki Blasts.

Vegeta

Dbz ssw vegeta.JPG

Vegeta is the proud and powerful Prince of Saiyans. He always seems to think that he can beat anybody else with ease. Despite his cocky attitude, he has a battle style with pretty useful desperation moves. He's the ultimate rival of Goku but will sometimes team up with him against the most powerful and destructive forces. He also meets his son from the future, Trunks, and battles alongside him in an attempt to restore peace.

Trunks

Dbz ssw trunks.JPG

Trunks is the son of Vegeta. In the present, he's just a little boy that never went through Super Saiyan transformation (the one that forms with Goten to make Gotenks). In the future, he's a fully grown Super Saiyan, strong and powerful. With the knowledge of what might happen in the future, his fights have a point to them that might stop the evil android corruption he experienced in his original time.

Ginyu

Dbz ssw ginyu.JPG

Ginyu is the leader of the Ginyu Special Force. He may be referred to as Ginyuu in other versions. He powers-up Ki at an average rate and his moves also take a lot of Ki to execute, but, when in his powered-up forms, (Level 2 and Level 3) he is able to use being the Captain of a force as an advantage.

Frieza

Dbz ssw frieza.JPG

Frieza seemed to be the strongest force in the galaxy. The only thing he didn't have was eternal life. Frieza, along with his second-in-command, Captain Ginyu, goes on a quest to collect all seven Dragon Balls, which, when collected, would grant him eternal life. Frieza's ultimate goal throughout his story is to become the strongest being in the galaxy.

Dr. Gero

Dbz ssw gero.JPG

Dr. Gero was the head scientist of the evil Red Ribbon Army before Goku single-handedly destroyed the evil army. Now, Gero's out for revenge. He wants to kill Goku once and for all. Not the best fighter in the game, Gero has plenty of weaknesses, but he can still put up a fight.

Android 18

DBZSSW Android 18.JPG

Android 18 and Android 17 were normal humans until they were kidnapped and altered by Dr. Gero, turning them into Androids. They're quick to rebel at the beginning of their story and end up killing the scientist. Android 18 usually always has her brother by her side, though he isn't playable. Her goal throughout the story is to face Goku, who is supposedly the toughest of all the Saiyans.

Cell

DBZSSW Cell.JPG

Cell is the final creation of Dr. Gero, said to be the perfect artificial life form. He was given this name since he was created from the cells of the most skilled fighters on the planet - this includes the likes of Goku, Piccolo, Frieza, Krillin, Vegeta, and the list goes on. His story arc is the Cell Games Saga, in which Cell, bored with the little competition given to him by the Z Fighters, decides to threaten the planet with his idea of a tournament.

Buu

DBZSSW Buu.JPG

Buu is the creation of the wizard Bibidi who locked Buu away when he became uncontrollable. After the death of Bibidi, his son, Babidi, decided to make it his life's goal to revive Buu. He was successful, but upon his revival, Buu killed Babidi. After becoming friends with Hercule, Buu's evil side expanded and defeated his good side. This serves as his second form (one he himself calls "Super Buu" but usually referred to as "Evil Buu") in the game.

Gotenks

DBZSSW Gotenks.JPG

Gotenks is the Fusion Dance result of a young Trunks, son of Vegeta, and a young Goten, son of Goku. The two combined to form the ultimate weapon to defeat Buu. Despite the childish attitude, the best friend combination of Goten and Trunks can prove to be a challenging opponent against the toughest of the tough.
