The game world consists of an overworld map and a number of dungeons. Each dungeon contains 12 tokens, a number of color-coded keys, a weapon, and a spell. Glendaal, the player character, must solve puzzles and/or vanquish the enemies in each room to obtain tokens and keys. If Glendaal is hurt, he must start the room over. Once Glendaal has collected the 12 tokens, he can fight the dungeon boss. Defeating a dungeon boss will remove its ghost from the overworld, allowing Glendaal to progress to the next dungeon.
