Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland is a Nintendo DS game featuring Tingle, a character from the Legend of Zelda series. Initially it was only released in Japan; after positive feedback from the English-speaking press, Nintendo of Europe decided to localise the game for release in Europe.

While Tinge's Rosy Rupeeland uses the familiar structure of exploration and dungeon-clearing seen in the rest of the series, combat works in a different manner. Bumping into enemies makes Tingle attack them automatically in a cartoon-style dust cloud; moving the cloud into other enemies increases the rewards dropped by the enemies. Tingle can also hire bodyguards to help him in battle.

Rupees are central to the game. As well as serving as Tingle's health, they are also used throughout the game to bribe people, open doors, and expand the height of the tower that allows Tingle to access new areas.

Plot

Tingle was an ordinary middle-aged man until he met Uncle Rupee, an old man with a Rupee-shaped head. Uncle Rupee offers Tingle the chance to go to a magical paradise known as Rupeeland, where nobody does any work and he will be surrounded by beautiful women and exotic food. Tingle agrees, and Uncle Rupee transforms him and makes rupees his source of life. In order to reach Rupeeland, Tingle must collect rupees and throw them into the pool near his house.
