- For the mobile version, see Guitar Hero III Mobile.
After the success of Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock changed the pace by replacing Harmonix (which is working on Rock Band during the time) with Neversoft. All versions (except for the PlayStation 2 release) have online functionality.
