Use manual for this. I don't care if you're used to automatic. Just learn how to use manual. There is a shortcut. There is a gap between the bricks by the end of the finish line. Use a mushroom to zoom through it.

N64 Bowser's Castle

This track has Thwomps galore in it. There are even moving Thwomps so be careful. There are some chances to perform tricks near the end although, on the second and third laps, you should be careful of lava streams.
