Corneria

The first planet to face, Corneria is fairly easy and straightforward throughout the level. There are two bosses - by simply going through the level you automatically will end up facing the easier of the two. When this boss is defeated, Star Fox will proceed to Meteo; however, to advance to Sector Y, you must first get to the other boss by shooting down all the enemies targeting Falco at the point shortly past the checkpoint, then fly through all of the arches in the span of water past that. Earn the medal by keeping all of the team alive and in action and destroying 150 enemies.

To defeat the easy boss, simply shoot his legs until he cannot move, then shoot his back until the shield meter empties entirely.

In order to destroy the more difficult boss, follow Falco through the waterfall and shoot down the enemies you see. Duck down when you reach the water and then begin to shoot at the boss ship's arms as soon as you can. Wait for the arm to open, then shoot directly into where the enemies are coming out (don't worry about them). Do this with all three arms until he turns away and then continue to shoot and bomb him as much as you can; when he turns back towards you, watch out for the orange torpedoes.

Meteo

This level consists of an asteroid belt and is on the easy game path. Go straight ahead, avoiding crashing into any asteroids (you can, however, shoot them to earn points). Simply continue on ahead in order to defeat the boss (Meteo Crusher) and advance to Fortuna/Fichina. To go to Katina instead, you must fly through all of the warp rings (they look like Checkpoint loops without the word "checkpoint") that are present near the end of the level. If you do go through all of the warp rings, then you must handle a short, bizarrely colored "warp" area. You need 200 points to earn a medal here.

If you do not go through the warps, then defeat the Meteo Crusher. Shoot at the yellow triangles revealed by the spinning shield until the shield comes off, being careful to avoid the green laser it sends back at you. After this, a laser will be fired at you with some warning; after the first laser, shoot at the yellow diamond in the center until this "stage" of the boss is completed. When the ship flips over shoot the yellow rectangles but avoid the circle-shaped lasers by doing a flip or using the boost.

Sector Y

Sector Y is the first hard level in the game (it's the beginning of the hardest game "path".) In this level, you must destroy the robot-like enemies that take several hits to destroy in addition to less hardy enemies. At the end of the level here you will face a boss actually consisting of three seperate bosses; first, two of the robots that together make up the first boss and therefore share a shield meter; second, a larger, faster robot that can dock on a ship and shoot at the team from there in addition to flying around the playing field. 150 points wins the medal, and if you complete the level with at least 100 points you can advance to Aquas.

To defeat the first two boss robots, simply shoot at them until they explode; then do the same with the third robot. However, watch out as he moves very quickly; to make it easier, wait until he lands on his ship, at which point he will stay stationary while you shoot him.

Fortuna (Fichina)

Fortuna/Fichina (from now on simply called Fortuna for ease) is another easy level. This level is all-range, meaning you fly all around the playing area the entire time instead of just scrolling ahead. Here you shoot down the simple enemies for a while; then, the four-man Star Wolf team shows up. Midway through this battle, it is revealed that there is a bomb within the base; you now must defeat all members of the Star Wolf team within a time limit so Fox can take care of the bomb. Destroy enemies and earn 50 points to gain a medal.

Star Wolf can be difficult for a beginner. Do turns while holding down the R or L button until you see one of the team members, continue to shoot them until you cannot do so anymore, then repeat. If a laser comes past you, do a loop. Star Wolf are not damaged by bombs.

Katina

On Katina, you must help an army destroy various weak enemies later learned to come from a mothership. You must take care not to hit any of the green-and-white ships; if you do so, Bill responds with "That was one of ours!" and you will earn no points for such a hit. Soon a large mothership will appear, and whenever the hatches open to release new enemies you must shoot at them until you have destroyed enough to prompt the core to appear. Once it does, you must bomb and shoot the core to destroy it before the time limit (one minute) ends. If you succeed you will go on to Solar; if you didn't the next level is Sector X. To earn the medal destroy 150 enemies.

Aquas

This entire level is played out underwater. Instead of the Arwing, you operate the Blue Marine - a submarine with an unlimited amount of torpedoes (which function here like bombs; they also can shoot at things that have been locked onto in addition to serving as a source of light. About a third of the way through the level things will get very dark and enemy-riddled; be vigilant and shoot as much as you can, grab as many silver and gold rings as you can, and continue to shoot torpedoes nonstop. Be careful when you go through the crevasse as it is filled with exploding starfish and, towards the end, falling rocks. You need 150 points to earn the medal.

The boss of this level is a clam-like "bio-weapon" that comes up rather suddenly. At this point long snake-like enemies will come out of the odd cylinders at the top; shoot the snakes and the cylinders now so they won't bother you later. When the clam opens up, shoot at the two fleshy strings connecting the top and bottom of the shell. When they change color, fire a torpedo at one so that it breaks, then do the same for the other string - the top of the shell will come off. Now you must shoot the membrane covering the eye and then the eye itself, while avoiding the pearl-like bullets the clam fires at you. Do this until the shield meter empties.

Sector X

This level is fairly easy. Simply kill the enemies -for the larger groups, use a bomb - until you get past the wreckage of the base and come to a split in the path. Go to the right if you want to go to Titania or MacBeth, but to the left if you want to go to Sector Z. Going to the right is easier, and by doing so you will end up facing the boss, Spyborg. If you go to the left, use the boost/brake in order to get through the walls when they open, and begin shooting the rectangular panel when you get past these walls to where many enemies from the sides are shooting at you. If you arrived on Sector X from the level Katina, then Bill will appear and help you. Fly through the panel once it has opened. Continue doing this with every panel you see; if you do it correctly, you will enter a warp area similar to Meteo's, but if you did not, then you will have to face Spyborg and head to MacBeth or Titania. You need to defeat 150 enemy units to win a medal on Sector X.

Spyborg is a large robot. His attacks are fairly easy to avoid at first. Shoot at the yellow eyes until he explodes, at which point the shield meter will be half empty. Spyborg will then come back to life - angry - and will try to slap you. If you want to avoid Titania, shoot at where Spyborg's head used to be as fast as you can. If you want to take on Titania, allow Spyborg to slap Slippy first, then destroy him.

Solar

In this level you must try to stay as high in the air as possible, as the shield of the Arwing will slowly go down due to the high heat. Get as many silver and gold rings as possible through the level, and avoid the arches of lava. Shoot any rocks that rise up from the lava as they contain useful items, and swerve to avoid the swells of lava. You need 100 points for the medal.

The boss will shoot item-filled rocks at you, attempt to hit you, and dive into the lava to make it rise up. For the extraordinarily high swells, you can put on the brakes and fly to an upper corner of the screen. Shoot his arms until they are both destroyed, and try to avoid the fireballs he will send at you (this is difficult). Shoot his head until it comes off.
