Planet Names

I'm a little confused about the names. Two names that got corrected - from Katina to Katalina and from Bolse to Borus - don't make sense to me. Whenever I play the Star Fox 64 game, I know that it says "Bolse", not "Borus", and I'm pretty sure it says "Katina". Were Katalina/Borus later changes, misunderstandings about the names, the names from another version, or what? Triste Scarecrow 12:11, 31 August 2007 (CDT)

[decides to add something else] I looked it up (on Wikipedia, mind you) and it said that Katina was called Katarina in the Japanese version of the game. From what I've heard There are no L sounds in Japanese, only R sounds (which sound similiar to L sounds?) but forgive me if I'm wrong. If this is true though, why does it not say Katarina, and why are we still calling Fichina "Fortuna" if that was a translation mix-up? And if we're keeping Fortuna for ease, why not use Katina and Bolse if most users of an English-language wiki, on an article with the non-European/Australian name would be familiar with Katina, Bolse, and Fortuna? (I only mention the game-name thing in case there's a difference in level names between the versions.) Triste Scarecrow 12:25, 31 August 2007 (CDT)

If there is a naming difference between localizations, we should stick to the English name (hopefully US and EU are the same), though the alternate name can be mentioned. -- Prod (Talk) 19:41, 31 August 2007 (CDT)

Wow, that's weird... I got the names from the Official Nintendo Power guidebook, but I just played through the game and noticed all the inaccuracies between the book's names and the game's names. I naturally assumed that the guide was correct (it being "Official" and all), but I guess not (for example, that scan of the planets was from the Official Guidebook). I say that we should go with what the actual game has, not what some crack-headed idiot that wrote the guide put down. I downloaded the EU version ROM, and the names there are consistent with the US. Possibly, it might have been made before the translations were, so they were using translated versions of the Japanese names. Anyway, I've fixed the image and imagemap, as well as all links and the table of contents back to what the game actually says. I also moved Fortuna to Fichina, even though it was originally named "Fortuna." Map paths

Hey, I'm just a random person who searched "Star fox 64 map" on google images, and the image on the strategy guide led me here, but I just wanted to clarify that there is a mistake with the map, in case you didn't know that already. I've played the game myself, and there isn't an normal path from Titania to Macbeth, but there is a normal path from Sector X to Macbeth. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.190.183.254 (talk • contribs) .

I fixed it, along with adding another path that was missing from Sector Z to Bolse. It should appear whenever the image cache refreshes itself, which may not be for a while. Procyon 18:15, 15 March 2017 (UTC)

Fortuna Map Inconsistency

The map image still has Fichina as the label for Fortuna. This appears to have confused someone who then edited the page, although the naming decision was made years ago. Flufftailer (talk) 23:41, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

Fortuna and Fichina are different locations. It was supposed to be Fichina, but they messed up in the original release and called it Fortuna. This was corrected in the re-releases. Technically, Fichina is correct. -- Prod (talk) 03:20, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
