Computer "cheating"
There are certain things that CPU controlled racers can do which human players cannot. This is regarded by some as cheating. Below is a list of these special abilities.
- Unlimited items - Bowser, Princess, Donkey Kong Jr and Yoshi all have unlimited amounts of their special items (fireballs, poison mushrooms, banana peels and Yoshi eggs, respectively).
- Invincibilty - CPU racers can become invincible whenever it suits them. This usually when they are chasing you for the lead or when you are behind them with a weapon.
- Jumping - CPU racers can jump any special item that has been left on track by another CPU racer.
