"Spoilers" removed - why?[edit]

Why were the references to Las Plagas removed from the boss fight? Those aren't the first parasites to make an appearance, and anybody who's already seen one will be able to guess from the (unnecessarily vague) description "something will break out of the boss's back" that it's a parasite - even if they don't know what it's called at this point. Removing the name of the boss seems overly-protective to me, too - there's a limit on what you can hide from the reader. If they're reading a walkthorugh for a game, they've got to expect that a certain amount of the surprises will be given away, surely? --aniki21 07:57, 24 January 2006 (PST)

  • I actually realized that later that they would have seen them before. Still, some people like to read ahead a little, and although it would be their fault if they were spoiled, it still would ruin some suprises.
Actually, it might be better just to add a Spoilers warning, like I did with Ashley joining... If there is anyway to revert changes, we might want to do that. Sorry, I should have written in talk before changing anything big. :/ --Netmonmatt 08:14, 24 January 2006 (PST)
  • I just saw that template for spoilers you uploaded. That would work perfectly for spoiler warnings. --Netmonmatt 08:25, 24 January 2006 (PST)
  • The walkthrough was not meant to be spoiler-free. At least from my perspective. I intended to add a spoiler warning after I had finished writing the guide. Removing the boss name would make it much more difficult to locate the solution/strategies to defeating a specific boss. I'm going to revert them back to my originals, add spoiler warnings to the pages, and edit out the controller specific stuff. --Hack 14:22, 24 January 2006 (PST)
