Wii U VC configuration: It's basically the same as the Classic Controller with the {{wiiu|ZL}} and {{wiiu|ZR}} on the backs instead of the top middle. In addition, you're allowed to configure the controls with the exception of the {{wiiu|neutral|dpad}}. You can access the Virtual Console menu by touching the Wii U Gamepad screen.
The best recommendation in setting up the controls follows like this:
*{{wiiu|ZL}} for targeting ({{N64|Z}}).
*{{wiiu|ZR}} for blocking normal and range attacks ({{N64|R}}).
*{{wiiu|L}} for {{N64|Up|C}}.
*{{wiiu|R}} for {{N64|Down|C}}
*{{wiiu|Y}} for {{N64|Left|C}}.
*{{wiiu|X}} for {{N64|Right|C}}.
*{{wiiu|Minus}} for map ({{N64|L}}).
*{{wiiu|A}} for action ({{N64|A}}).
*{{wiiu|B}} for sword attack ({{N64|B}}).
*{{wiiu|Neutral|Lstick}} for control stick ({{N64|Neutral|Control}}).
*{{wiiu|Neutral|Rstick}} stick for the C Buttons.
*{{wiiu|Plus}} as a pause button ({{N64|Start}}).
