  • Scroll left through subscreens
  • Center the camera behind Link

While locked on, use B button to attack, or A button to talk.

The Targeting system can be configured on the options menu of the game select screen. Switch Mode, which is tapping the button, is good for beginners and Hold mode, which is holding the button, is challenging for veterans.

Wii U VC configuration: It's basically the same as the Classic Controller with the ZL button and ZR button on the backs instead of the top middle. In addition, you're allowed to configure the controls with the exception of the Neutral dpad. You can access the Virtual Console menu by touching the Wii U Gamepad screen.

The best recommendation in setting up the controls follows like this:

  • ZL button for targeting (Z button).
  • ZR button for blocking normal and range attacks (R button).
  • L button for Up c.
  • R button for Down c
  • Y button for Left c.
  • X button for Right c.
  • Minus button for map (L button).
  • A button for action (A button).
  • B button for sword attack (B button).
  • Neutral lstick for control stick (Neutral control).
  • Neutral rstick stick for the C Buttons.
  • Plus button as a pause button (Start button).
