The first set of enemies that you will encounter are groups of red and black coins that either travel from the upper left corner of the screen down to the right, or from the upper right corner of the screen down to the left. Stay on the bottom of the screen and travel along with them as you shoot as many as possible.
By the time you are done with these enemies, you should have enough points to buy Autofire from the shop. Don't forget to enable it after you buy it.
Next you are confronted by face which drop down from the top of the screen in groups of fours. They drop down a bit before shooting a bullet at you and retreating to the top of the screen. Continue shooting up and destroy as many as you can.
Enemies in groups of fives will start to appear from every corner of the screen. They fly across the screen, slowing down occasionally to shoot at Hanii, and then continue on their way. They are easier to deal with when dropping down than when rising up, but if you get underneath the set as they curve across, you can get rid of most of them with enough time to dodge the bullets. They will appear in the following order: Upper right, upper left, lower left, lower right, lower right, upper right, upper left, lower left, upper left, lower right.
During this sequence, check the shop. If you can afford the middle jet engine for 4000 points, purchase one and equip it before continuing.
Ghosts will appear in groups from the top of the screen. They first appear in groups of four, but later in groups of six. They will approach whatever your current position is, stopping to reevaluate where you are, and adjust their trajectory to better chase you. You can usually lure most of them to the middle of the screen and destroy them before they become a threat.
The last enemies to appear before the boss, are groups of 16 hearts that appear around you in a giant circle that slowly closes in. If you aim your gun down and to the right, you will be able to punch a hole in their formation to get out of when they come in very close together. Then you can move away and try to shoot the remainder, who will spread back out again before disappearing. The first group may simply disappear off the bottom of the screen before having a chance to spread out. After the two groups attack, you will advance to the boss location.
The game will automatically bring up the pause menu. This is your last chance to visit the shop, or make any alterations to Hanii. Once the boss battle begins, you cannot make changes until the start of the next stage.
The boss of the stage will materialize wherever Hanii is located, so it is important to keep moving, or he will take damage once the boss fully appears. Once he does, he releases eight slow moving orbs into the air that spread out around him. Then he disappears and starts the process over again. As he takes damage, he speeds up how quickly he returns.
The best strategy is to move around the outside edge of the screen in a clockwise manner. Adjust your gun to shoot behind you as you move around. Try to time things so that you move up or down out of the orbs way, and cause the boss to reappear in one of the corners. Then move laterally away from him, firing back at him until he starts to disappear again. Then move up or down to avoid the next set of orbs and repeat until the boss is defeated.
