Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven has a linear story line that is divided into chapters and is progressed by completing missions and events. Some missions have optional sub missions that reward bonus items. At the inn, characters will have a yellow crown icon 
over their head to indicate who to speak to in order to advance the story. If they have a pink heart icon 
, then a HEART Event is available. You can leave the inn to fight in free battles to level up characters or collect items.
