The 7th Guest is a multi-system game, and there are certain steps that need to be followed to install it on each operating system.

DOS[edit]

  1. Insert disc two into your CD-ROM drive, then type the letter of your CD-ROM drive followed by a colon and press Enter. For example, if your CD-ROM drive is letter D, go to the C:\> prompt and type "D:".
  2. Type "INSTALL" to run the installation program, which will set up the program and copy it to the hard drive.

To change the settings at any time, change to your 7th Guest directory and type "INSTALL".

Running[edit]

If you have installed the game to the default directory, use the following instructions to run the game:

  1. Go to the C:\> prompt.
  2. Make sure disc one is in the CD-ROM drive.
  3. Type "CD\ID\T7G" and press Enter.
  4. Type "T7G" and press Enter.

Windows 95[edit]

  1. Insert CD 2 into your CD-ROM drive to install.
  2. Go to My Computer, select your CD-ROM drive, press PC Mouse Right Click.png and choose Explore.
  3. Locate "Install.bat", then double-click and let the installation begin.
  4. Press any key to continue. The program will then ask you for your hard drive selection (e.g. "C"). Press Enter.
  5. If you chose "C", you'll be copying your files to "C:\id\t7g\". Press Enter to accept.
  6. The next screen should test your CD-ROM drive speed. After it is done, press any key to continue.
  7. The next test will be about your video speed. After it is done, press any key to continue.

Windows Vista[edit]

  1. Insert CD 2 into your CD-ROM drive to install.
  2. Go to My Computer, select your CD-ROM drive, press PC Mouse Right Click.png and choose Explore.
  3. Browse to the "\T7G\INSTALL" folder on the disc.
  4. Copy all of the files located in the "\T7G\INSTALL" folder to a folder on your machine that you have read/write permissions for.
  5. Download the 7th Guest for Windows BETA update.
  6. Unpack all of the files in the ZIP file into the folder you copied the install folders to.
  7. Create a shortcut to "v32tng.exe" somewhere on your desktop and run that shortcut to play the game.
  • If you get "Wrong Volume" errors or the sound stops working, save and exit, then restart the game.
  • Make sure that you have the proper disc in when you start the game.
  • Do not switch tasks during gameplay, or you may lose sound.
