Controls[edit]

  • Joystick: Use the 4-way joystick to make Momo walk left and right, crouch, and jump three times higher than normal when she is in her super form.
  • Attack Button: Use this button to make Momo kick the other actors and actresses who are playing the parts of her enemies. If Momo is in her super form and holding the Wonder Hoop, this button will make her throw it at the enemies. Momo must retrieve the hoop before she can throw it again.
  • Jump Button: Use this button to make Momo jump. If she is in her super form, you can hold the joystick up while pressing this button to make her jump three times higher than normal. Note that if Momo isn't in her super form, pushing the joystick up when jumping has no additional effect.
  • 1 or 2 Player Buttons: Push these buttons to begin a 1 or 2 player game.

Characters[edit]

Momo Chan (モモちゃん)[edit]

WM Momo Chan Super.gif

This actress is the protagonist of the game, and she plays the part of the game's eponymous superheroine "Wonder Momo" in a live stage show at the "Namco Theater". In her normal form (shown to the left) she must kick all of the other actors and actresses who are playing the parts of her enemies. Doing so will build up her red "WONDER" meter, displayed in the top-left portion of the screen.

When the current act's "boss" enemy comes onto the stage from the right side of the screen, a Tornado (WM Tornado.gif), will come flying towards her from the left side of the screen. Once it makes contact with Momo, she will spin around rapidly and change into her super form (shown to the right). Her weapon, the "Wonder Hoop" (WM Wonder Hoop.gif), appears in her hands. The music will switch to a superhero theme, and the "WONDER" meter starts to decrease. When Momo throws the "Wonder Hoop", it will start bouncing around the stage. Momo must catch the hoop before she can throw it again. The hoop will ultimately disappear if the "WONDER" meter fully depletes.

It is also possible for Momo to transform into Wonder Momo without the aid of a tornado. If Momo has sufficient "WONDER" meter built up, the play can attempt to rock the joystick back and forth rapidly enough to simulate being caught in the tornado. If successful, the player will transform as if they were touched by a tornado.

Any contact with the enemy actors will knock Momo down, and cause her orange "VITAL" meter to decrease. If the "VITAL" meter is reduced to nothing, Momo will faint after she has been knocked down, and the stage curtain will drop, ending the show.

Capsules (カプセルズ)[edit]

  • WM Red-Yellow Capsule.gif
Red/Yellow Capsule: When Momo defeats an enemy with kicks while in her normal form, they sometimes send one of these flying up into the air. If Momo collects it before it escapes through the top of the screen, it will restore a quarter of her "VITAL" meter.
  • WM Blue-Peach Capsule.gif
Blue/Peach Capsule: When Momo kills an enemy while in her super form, either by kicking them or striking them with the "Wonder Hoop", they sometimes send one of these flying up into the air. If Momo collects it, she will spin around in one place, firing bursts of energy to her left and right.
  • WM Orange-White Capsule.gif
White/Orange Capsule: Another possibilty when Momo kills an enemy while in her 'super' form, they may send one of these flying up into the air instead. If she manages to collect it, she gains the ability to fire shots at the enemies to her left and right, replacing her normal kick attack.
