You wake up in a cell with Citan. Save your game and rest when prompted. Remember those pirates mentioned back in Dazil? They just found you, and they punched a hole in the boat. Sand is leaking in from all sides, getting higher and higher. The sand will make it hard to move, so always run.
Head EAST to the next cell to pick up the (1) Survival Tent. Head across and hit the door lock which will slow the sand down slightly. In the WEST cell, there's a (2) Rosesol. Head to the ladder on the WEST side to go to the next floor.
Enemies start appearing on the second floor. Follow the catwalk around to find the (3) Leather Vest. There's a mandatory fight with 4 Aveh Soldiers and 2 Aveh Corporals for it, though. Every few turns, there will be a Fire from the Engine Room that does 30-40 damage to you. Use your healing Ethers outside of battle to keep your HP topped. Jump down to the WEST to get the (4) Extra Ar+1, fighting some Soldiers for it. Use the ladders to backtrack to the catwalk, and watch out for missing floor tiles. Head to the ladder in the NORTHEAST corner.
On the third floor, there's a save point. Go around the boxes to the SOUTHWEST corner and take the ladder up. Carefully walk up the crane, but be reassured that you can't fall off. You get Weltall back, and are almost in the clear, except for those pirates.
Somehow your Gear has been repaired and refueled. Brigandier has two damaging attacks, a normal attack that does about 65 damage, and Chain Whip, which can do about 150 damage. He also has Wild Smile, an Ether that lowers your accuracy and evasion. Fortunately, Deathblows can't miss.
Use 
attacks to build up the attack gauge, then use your best Level 1 Deathblow. He'll be dead in no time.

Sadly, after the battle, quicksand gets the better of both of you.
