Tempest harvesting operations have been disrupted in this area. Dynasty interference is suspected. Retake and hold the position, await the arrival of a Mobile Construction Vehicle, then build a base a recommence harvesting. Destroy any Dynasty forces, and search for signs of a nearby Dynasty base.

Fisher is ready to brief you.

Main Objective:

  • Destroy Dynasty's Construction Yard
  • Deploy MCV into Construction Yard

Side Objective:

  • Destroy Dynasty's SAM Sites (x4)
  • Send Medic to Grenadiers
  • Build Satellite Uplink
  • Blow up the gate

After a short cutscene, you'll meet your commanding officer, Colonel Fisher. As part of the briefing, you'll be able to ask Fisher about the developing situation in Iceland.

Asking him about the Dynasty will have Fisher relate some background information about the Tempest Dynasty, their history, and their leadership.

His response to the threat levels in Iceland is more skeptical; although he notes the threat is technically negligible, he suspects a larger force is there because there are other resource sites that would be more appealing to the Dynasty.

He also has no idea about the type of enemy forces to expect, but he wisely recommends you to take care of your units. You will not be able to replace them easily in this mission.

A short cutscene will then play of your forces reconnoitring an enemy harvesting operation before falling back.

Walkthrough[edit]

The Globetrotter deploys your starting units.

At the mission start, a Globetrotter cargo plane will airdrop your starting units - four field scouts. Send them south and kill the first of several Dynasty Guards. There is only one path to follow, so follow it and kill any Dynasty Guards on the way.

After killing the second dynasty guard, you'll come across two more in a clearing. This time, the Globetrotter arrives back on scene and paradrops even more infantry to outflank them. Move south and help your new troops mop up. The paradropped infantry are Drone Operators, who specialize in long-range anti-surface operations. Keep them in the back and well protected. Select all your infantry and continue to follow the path.

This flame turret is a tough nut to crack from this angle. Head south instead.

Your next opponents will be two Havocs. These missile buggies aren't too big a threat, though they can finish off wounded infantry if you're not careful. Also nearby are some explosive barrels you can lure the Havocs into for some easier kills.

After dealing with the Havocs, you'll be warned of a flame turret covering a frozen bridge. With some micromanagement, it is possible to destroy the flame turret by having the drone operators deploy and use their drones to target the explosive barrels nearby. This will critically damage, but not destroy, the flame turret. The drones themselves will be targeted and destroyed by a nearby SAM site, but drone operators will create a new drone at no cost automatically.

It is advised instead to bypass the flame turret by proceeding south, over the ice. Destroy the Havoc carelessly parked next to the explosive barrels as you pass. The SAM site in the rear will open fire on your drones, but explosive barrels stacked next to it provide your infantry with enough firepower to destroy it. This reveals a new bonus objective: destroy all four Dynasty SAM sites.

The first SAM site, with explosive barrels next to it.

With the destruction of this first SAM site, you'll be airdropped even more reinforcements: two Sentinel scout cars and a Riot Medic. The Riot Medic is particularly important, as it can heal your other infantry, but not the Sentinels. With the SAM site down, your drone operator can freely destroy the flame turret from a safe distance. Also destroy the power plant and the north of the remains of the SAM site as targets of opportunity.

Assist these grenadiers to get them to join you.

Follow the path past the house and you'll encounter a number of grenadiers requesting assistance. These units are extremely durable for infantry, to the point where they even resist fire. Aid the grenadiers to add them to your group and task the medic to heal them, then follow the trail north to the next SAM site.

This SAM site is extremely lightly guarded. Simply rush your units in to overwhelm its one Dynasty Guard, then destroy the SAM site at your leisure.

Shoot over this ravine to destroy the SAM site.

The third SAM site is to the north, and has a few explosive barrels surrounding it. You can't access it directly, but you can shoot across the ravine to the explosive barrels. Destroy the barrels to destroy this SAM site quickly and easily.

A small Dynasty base lies just up the path. The most dangerous units are the ignitors, who wield flamethrowers capable of torching your light infantry. Have your grenadiers take point and focus these units down first, then focus on their Dynasty Guard escort.

Further into the base are a pair of missile troops and a few more Dynasty Guards. These missile troops are a considerable threat to your Sentinels, so deal with them first. Resistance should continue to be light as you work your way through the base. Destroy the enemy silos to reveal money crates that will help you later. Take advantage of all the explosive barrels in the region to quickly dismantle the enemy base, including a small Tempest harvesting operation in the back.

Your first base.

After destroying this base, you'll be reinforced one final time with another Sentinel, a drone operator, another grenadier, and most importantly, an MCV. Deploy the MCV into a construction yard and begin building your base. Build a power plant, a refinery, and a barracks, then finally a satellite uplink.

Building the satellite uplink gives you access to grenadiers, which are your most durable units. Have them take point and lead the charge into the enemy base after building a good number of drone operators for their powerful long range attacks.

This gate is too well defended. Use the airstrike instead of knocking on the front door.

You'll also get access to a GDF airstrike, which you can use on the gate to destroy it and a number of enemy units.

The base's second line of defence consists of a large amount of missile infantry, dynasty guards, and ignitors. Also notable is the pillager flame tank nearby. Focus this down with drone operators, with grenadiers taking point. Don't rely on field scouts, as they will fall quickly to fire.

The base itself is guarded by another two pillagers, a boar tank, and more ignitors. You can take out the silos and power plants in the rear as targets of opportunity, but all that matters is destroying the construction yard to complete the mission.
