Resources are required to purchase units and structures, as well as casting abilities and calling in support powers in Tempest Rising.

The cost of a unit or structure is displayed in the dialog box that appears from hovering the cursor over its portrait in the sidebar.

Credits[edit]

Required for purchasing all units, structures, and support powers, credits represent the capital the player has. They are primarily earned from harvesting Tempest.

If the player runs out of credits, the in-game announcer will provide the notification: "Insufficient funds!".

In the campaign missions, the player may start out with a certain amount of credits.

Earning credits[edit]

  • Harvesting Tempest. Harvester units gather Tempest pods from a field and deposit their load into their assigned refinery, processing their yield into credits. If the refinery becomes full, silos will need to be built in order to hold more credits.
  • Selling a structure, which grants the player a percentage of its original cost.
  • Picking up crates that grant the player a certain amount of credits.

Intel[edit]

Intel is the secondary resource unique to the Global Defense Forces. Intel is mainly earned through combat and is used to purchase higher-tier units and structures, as well as performing abilities and support powers unique.

Earning Intel[edit]

  • The GDF Construction Yard, Satellite Uplink, and the Data Core have the Intel Generation perk, where they passively generate 1 point of Intel every 7 seconds.
  • Killing enemy units or structures with a Marked status effect. The amount of Intel gained varies depending on the killed unit or structure.
  • Capturing enemy buildings with a GDF Engineer provides Intel.
