It puts players in the role of Zephyr, an air elemental who is appointed by his mentor Nimbus to serve as the leader of the Wind Warriors.
Zephyr is a young Wind Warrior who is appointed to lead the Wind Warriors after his mentor and former captain in command, Nimbus, steps down. Zephyr is determined to help those in need and during his mission, he and his team come across a dying elemental named Omegaton. Omegaton has been stripped of his six orbs of power and he pleads with Zephyr to help him return home by returning his stolen orbs. To assist Zephyr and his team on their mission, Omegaton provides them with a Lightweight Object Amalgam Device (L.O.A.D. STARR) that protects them from the sun's deadly UV rays.

During their journey, Zephyr meets two friendly elemental allies: the Stone Stomper, a bulky rock elemental who teaches him how to perform a powerful stomp using his tornado, and the Water Whirl, a calm water elemental who teaches Zephyr how to dash with his tornado.
