Melrode

Melrode monastery

People of Melrode monastery:

  • The Grand Abbott assigns you the quest for the Eletale Book.
  • Gelis tells you about collectiong the four elemental spirits.
  • Fergus tells you that you won't have any weapon nor armor.
  • Auden gives you more hints about looking for spirits.
  • Gylmyne tells you about treasure chests.
  • Pat gives you some fresh bread.
  • Cerius wishes you good luck, and prays for you.
  • Marmaduke also wishes you good luck.

You will first listen to Grand Master Abbott talk. Then leave the room and go down the stairs until you are at the bottom and enter the door. When you cross halls, look to your right and you will be in a courtyard, where there is a chest: open it to get a dew drop then go to the next door for two more chest containing dew drops. Backtrack until the halls mentioned earlier. Go to the door to your right and go to the door straight in front of you, and you will be in the kitchen. Talk to Pat there for fresh bread and then open the chest for honey bread. Go to the giant blue door and you will finally be outside of the monastery. Take the left path first and you will see a stable. Climb on the haystack for a spirit. Now take the other path until you see a door, and enter it.

There is a wooden door in the monastery basement that cannot be opened.

Now you can go to the door in the stone wall and leave Melrode.

Errata corrige: Connor Forest is erroneously called "Fortress".

Continue along the path towards the South. Look to your right where there is wide open space and you'll see a purple house, enter it for another spirit. Dondoran (Irish spelling: Dún Dobhráin, same pronunciation) means "Mole Castle" in Gaeilge, the Celtic language of Ireland. It seems appropriate, since in this part of the game we are dealing with the Earth element. Anyway, there are no mole animals in Ireland, and "dobhráin" refers to the moles on the skin. Still, there is a real town named Bundoran / Bun Dobhráin in Ireland.

Look for the house with the house sign to save. When you're out the inn, go to the castle to the right you just saw before. Go to the big door following the red carpet and the room is the king's throne. Go to the door to the kings right to see his bedroom and there are three treasure chests. Now go to a side door then up the stairs then choose a door which is the opposite side of you by left and right when you enter the balcony with two iron doors and one wood door. Go to the door to your left and you will be in the princesses room. Go through the curtain and there are three more treasure chest.

Now go to the area where there are many trees. You will see the entrance to connor forest, go in.
