:I think we may need to re-optimize how we do the genres in games.  We have two different ways of classifying some games, and I think this brings out the limitations of what we've currently got.  We'll probably need a wider discussion of how genres are set up for the whole site. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|talk]]) 15:11, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

Justification for the page

(It's the first time I create a discussion page, I apologize in advance if I do it wrong.)

In the Category:RPG page there was one sub-genre: Category:Roguelike. As far as I know, further sub-genres of RPGs are: Japanese/Consolle-style, American/Computer-style (both turn-based); Action RPG (not turn-based). Tactical games are often considered a RPG sub-genre as well.

Wikipedia, too, says that Action RPG is essentially a sub-genre of the RPG genre with just some elements of action-adventure, not a balanced mix with equal proportions of the Action genre and the RPG genre, as the name would instead suggest (see also: List of SNES RPGs). --Abacos (talk) 15:06, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
