Band of Bugs is a turn-based strategy game for the Xbox Live Arcade, and is the third game released by NinjaBee for the platform. The game includes leaderboards, a level editor and support for the Xbox Live Vision Camera. It is often described as being similar to games like Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics, though is more simplistic than both. In the game, the player and their opponent both control their own party of bugs. Each bug species doubles as a character class. Unlike most strategy games, however, the party doesn't level up or gain experience from what they do through the game; skills and levels are pre-determined based on the scenario or mission. This provides a more accessible game experience, and fits with the casual gamer theme of Live Arcade games while still allowing more depth for strategy veterans.
