Final Fantasy Tactics is a series of turn-based tactical RPGs developed and published by Square Enix. While the three games are all set in the same fictional kingdom of Ivalice, the games are not true sequels and follow entirely unconnected stories and characters.
Gameplay in each installment primarily takes the form of battles on an isometric 2D grid, between the player's party and several enemy units. The world map contains fixed locations for plot events and battles, with paths between each location. Another major element of the series is the ability to change the Job of your clan members, which gives them access to new weapons, armor and skills as they level up.
