Dangerous Seed is a vertical scrolling shooter arcade game that was released by Namco in 1989 only in Japan. It runs on Namco System 1 hardware, and was later converted to the Sega Genesis in 1990. It was also the first game from Namco to include its year at the bottom of the "legal notice" that is typical of their Japan-exclusive 16-bit arcade games - apart from the three notable exceptions of Beraboh Man, Bakutotsu Kijuutei, and Four Trax.

Introduction

The player starts the game with three separate ships (Alpha, Beta and Delta) and must make it through the first four stages of the game by using them individually, starting with Alpha Ship. If Alpha Ship is unfortunate enough to get destroyed in any of the first four stages, Beta Ship will make an attempt to get through - and if Beta Ship is unfortunate enough to get destroyed, Delta Ship will make an attempt to get through. If Delta Ship is unfortunate enough to get destroyed, however, the game will be over - but if the player makes it through the fourth stage, the three individual ships will combine into one enormous ship which possesses a massive amount of firepower.
