Dangerous Seed is a vertical scrolling shooter arcade game that was released by Namco in 1989 only in Japan. It runs on Namco System 1 hardware, and was later converted to the Sega Genesis in 1990. It was also the first game from Namco to include its year at the bottom of the "legal notice" that is typical of their Japan-exclusive 16-bit arcade games - the other ones are Dragon Saber, Bakuretsu Quiz Ma-Q no Daibōken, F.A., Cosmo Gang: The Puzzle, Super World Court, Knuckle Heads, Net-tō! Geki-tō! Quiz-tō!!, Numan Athletics, Great Sluggers, Nebula's Ray, J-League Soccer V-Shoot, Tekken, The Outfoxies, Mach Breakers, Xevious 3D/G, Super World Stadium '95, Namco Classics Collection Vol. 1, Dunk Mania, X-Day 2, Soul Edge, Prime Goal EX, Namco Classics Collection Vol. 2, Super World Stadium '96, Dancing Eyes, Kosodate Quiz My Angel, Tekken 3, Super World Stadium '97, Kosodate Quiz My Angel 2, Tenkomori Shooting, Soul Calibur, Tekken Tag Tournament, Mr. Driller and Aqua Rush. The "legal notice" itself made its first appearance on the company's third 16-bit game, Blazer, in 1987.
Introduction
The player starts the game with three separate ships (Alpha, Beta and Delta) and must make it through the first four stages of the game by using them individually, starting with Alpha Ship. If Alpha Ship is unfortunate enough to get destroyed in any of the first four stages, Beta Ship will make an attempt to get through - and if Beta Ship is unfortunate enough to get destroyed, Delta Ship will make an attempt to get through. If Delta Ship is unfortunate enough to get destroyed, however, the game will be over - but if the player makes it through the fourth stage, the three individual ships will combine into one enormous ship which possesses a massive amount of firepower.
