It terms of what you have to do this is a relatively easy task but there are two things to keep in mind: firstly never stop. If you skid out or hit something keep the accelerator down and keep driving you can spin out and still complete the course. As for damage grazing another vehicle or lamppost is not all that important if it saves you a couple of seconds.
