Treasures are items that don't belong in the cage permanently; if you exit the cage, they will go. These are also items like treats and things to look after your hamster and cage with.
You Can buy treasures at the Pet Shop.
To unlock more treasures, try talking to the people at the pet shop, and visiting the characters.
