  • Teach the average user how to configure and operate MAME.
  • Teach the average user about the different variations of MAME.
  • Inform users about support files and front-ends.
  • Discuss controller options and lightly touch upon the phenomenon of building a MAME cabinet.

What this guide does not do:

  • Teach a user how to find and download ROMs.
  • Teach the user how to configure options that are unique to particular MAME variations.
  • Teach the user how to operate MAME from anything other than a Windows/Linux/Mac environment.
