'''Aran is a new race which will make its debut in the Korean version of MapleStory on July 9th, 2009.'''

By default, players must create an Aran character with tan skin. The Aran race starts in a "Maple Island alike" area called Lienne, an icy snow covered barbaric area . Aran Race use Pole Arms for weapons and are themed as Icy cold barbaric race which has the power of wolfs. Like Knight Of Cygnus, in the Selecting character screen, there will be a bamboo image identifying the character as Aran.
The Arans were heroes of the past who fought for the Maple World but the Black Magician froze them with a curse. After hundreds of years, the heroes from the past were awakened from being cursed and imprisoned in the ice for a very long time, leading to a loss of their  memories and abilities.

With the help and training of a girl called Lilin the heroes are trying to regain their abilities back. The heroes are aware of that the Black Magician will come back to the Maple World very soon, they are ready to defeat the Black Magician for once and for all!

If you create an Aran, the new character will have a default tan skin. Arans starts in an area called Lienne, an icy snow covered area with very low temperatures located in a warm place due to the curse. More than half of the island is covered with snow and ice. Arans are a warrior-type class who uses a Pole Arm as their main weapon. Like Knight of Cygnus, in the selecting character screen there will be a bamboo image identifying the character as an Aran.

On top of all that has already been said, they also have a new combo system created just for them. You increase your combo counter by continuously hitting monsters, and as it increases your damage does too. On top of that some of their skills can only be used if your combo counter is over a certain value.
