Unlike all the other member of the Elite 4 Bertha has changed the movesets of the Pokemon that she previously had in Diamond and Pearl, which are {{bp|Hippowdon}}, {{bp|Golem}} and {{bp|Whiscash}}. She has also replaced {{bp|Quagsire}} and {{bp|Sudowoodo}} with {{bp|Gliscor}} and {{bp|Rhyperior}}, both of which are at higher levels than her former main Pokemon, Hippowdon.

Like in Diamond and Pearl, Bertha starts with a Water and Ground type although this time is is Whiscash instead of Quagsire. Whiscash no longer has {{bp|Fissure}}, presumably because Fissure's accuracy is so unreliable and there are actually a lot of Pokemon that are immune to it, instead using {{bp|Sandstorm}} and she has also replaced {{bp|Earthquake}} with {{bp|Earth Power}}. She does still have {{bp|Aqua Tail}} and {{bp|Zen Headbutt}} however.

Golem still has Sandstorm and Earthquake but has replaced {{bp|Brick Break}} and {{bp|Gyro Ball}} with {{bp|Fire Punch}} and {{bp|Thunder Punch}}. Since most Grass or Water types have either enough Defence to endure these moves, or enough Speed to strike before Golem can use them, it is still easy to defeat. Golem has {{bp|Rock Head}} which is completely pointless without {{bp|Double-Edge}}, the only move Golem can learn that gives Rock Head any use. It should have {{bp|Sturdy}} instead.
