Besides a green haired Nurse Joy, Fuschia City is your atypical metropolitan area in Gold and Silver. It contains many houses along with a Pokémon Gym, a Pokémart, and a Pokémon Center. Unlike in Red and Blue, Fuschia City (in Gold/Silver) does not contain access to the Safari Zone. Route 19, south of the city, is closed for construction, so swimming to Cinnabar Island is not an opportunity at this point in the game.
