Aria will meet up with you, advising that you should go report that you've cleared out all the sludge from the waterways, so you both head out, as a Go-Rock grunt watches on as their plans fail yet again. Once back at the Ranger Base, Joel decides to promote you to Ranger Rank 4 for a successful job! This means you can use the Bug Assist, the Ground Assist, and you can carry one more Pokémon, so your party size is now 5!

Therefore, you have to go ask that the guy at the harbor with the Lapras if he'll allow you to ride it.

Capture Challenges work in the following way: You'll have a set amount of time to capture as many Pokémon as you can. Back at Base

Aria will meet up with you, advising that you should go report that you've cleared out all the sludge from the waterways, so you both head out, as a Go-Rock grunt watches as their plans fail yet again. Once back at the Ranger Base, Joel decides to promote you to Ranger Rank 4 for a successful job! This means you can use the Bug Assist, the Ground Assist, and you can carry one more Pokémon, so your party size is now 5!

Obtaining Ranger rank level 4

You get a message from Spenser telling you that the Go-Rock Squad has been active in Summerland, so he asks that you go there to gather information. However, Joel informs you that the ferry that goes to Summerland isn't working and the Dragonite that could normally take you there can't be used at the current Ranger Rank. Therefore, you have to go ask that the guy at the harbor with the Lapras if he'll allow you to ride it.

Riding Lapras

Riding on Lapras

Head out of the Ranger Base and continue going south until you find yourself in the first area of the game. As you go to the right to talk to the Lapras guy, you hear cries of help. Continuing right will show that Lapras is being attacked by two Krabby. Capture them.

After you've finished the capture, the Krabby will calm down and be released. The guy says he owes you one, so you ask him if he can let you ride Lapras to Summerland. He says yes and Lapras has its data added to the Browser.

Pokémon
Lapras Lapras

Just walk to the right and you'll jump right onto Lapras, it's time to go to Summerland!

Summerland

Once you've arrived, go to the left and you'll receive a message from Spenser telling you to go see Cameron, the leader of Summerland's Ranger Base, as he might have some info on the Go-Rock Squad. However, there is something else we can do before fulfilling our responsibilities as a Ranger. How about a fun little contest? Speak to MC Fisher, the man in blue with the microphone, to enter this area's Capture Challenge!

Sea Capture Challenge

Location of Summerland Capture Challenge

Capture Challenges work in the following way: You'll have a set amount of time to capture as many Pokémon as you can. Different Pokémon will give you different amounts of points, mostly depending on their rarity and difficulty to capture. Once the time is up, your points will be tallied and compared against the current High Score of the area. If you can beat the high score, you can then go back into the challenge to find some new Pokémon!

For this challenge, you'll find that you have three minutes to capture what you can with no help from your friends' Poké Assists. Also, the current record holder is Cameron himself, with 3500 points. So if you feel that you're up to the challenge, let's go over what Pokémon appear in this area, as they do count towards your Browser (and some are even exclusive to these challenges)!

Pokémon in this area (Bold = New):

Magikarp Magikarp 100
Carvanha Carvanha 200

Summerland's Ranger Base

When you enter, you're met with Percy and Leilani, who tell you that they don't know about Go-Rock Squad. They then inform you that Cameron went out to a Capture Challenge. Percy goes with his Politoed to get their leader. Talk to Leilani, and Cameron will come into the base, but just like Percy and Leilani, he has never heard of Go-Rock Squad. Suddenly, Percy comes back, saying that some suspicious people took his Politoed, and they used a really weird Capture Styler, and that they went toward Olive Jungle.

Cameron asks that you help by going to Olive Jungle and capture Politoed to give it back to Percy. As soon as you exit the base, you get a message from Spenser. Politoed's rescue is now your next official mission! Head to the left then up towards Olive Jungle.

Where's Politoed?

Percy comes in and apologizes for the inconvenience, and begs that you get his Politoed back. You are now free to explore, and right away you have access to a new Pokémon, Treecko.

You can also see some trees that you can use the Tackle Field Move on, but you can ignore this for now. You can also ignore the small patches of grass that require Gust to clear.

Meeting the Go-Rock admins

Climb the vines and move up to be introduced to the Go-Rock Quads, a group of Go-Rock admins as well as musicians, composed of Billy the guitar player, Tiffany the violin player, Garrett the bass player and Clyde the drum player. After they introduce themselves, they say they are planning to use the ultimate Styler to catch a Legendary Pokémon and end the Rangers. They then leave, so head left to find a member of Go-Rock Squad who attacks you with three Wurmple.

Wurmple Wurmple

After capturing them they will run of, head to the next screen and you'll see a Go-Rock member taking Politoed away. In this area, you have a couple more new Pokémon you can capture. You will also see a sleeping Snorlax which you can ignore

Phanpy Phanpy

You can use one of the Phanpy here to go back and use its Field Move on one of the trees from before to capture a Slakoth.

Anyway, moving on, follow the same path that the Go-Rock grunt took to the next screen to find a grunt with two Ekans that you'll have to capture.

Keep going forward, but watch out, as Spinarak will fall from the sky onto you. If they do, you'll go straight into a capture.

Going on to the next screen, you'll find a new Pokémon, Lotad, but if you want to capture it, make sure to sneak up on it from behind, otherwise it'll hide in the shallow water.

Politoed is escaping

If you go to the right, you'll see that Politoed has escaped the grunt to the other side of a small river. You'll see a dead tree that requires the Tackle Field Move x3 to clear, so you'll have to catch a Pokémon that can use this.

Go back left and then north, climb the vines and there will be two Pokémon, a Ludicolo, which we've already seen, and a Heracross. Walk behind the Heracross to capture it.

Pokémon
Heracross Heracross

Take the Heracross back to the dead tree and use its Field Move to topple the tree over the small river to get across. However, before you move on to the next screen, go up where you can see an Electrike and you'll find a small vine. Capture a Lotad if you haven't already and use its Field Move to grow the vine so you can climb it. Up here, you can capture a new Pokémon, Grovyle. Make sure to capture and keep this Pokémon with you, you'll need it later.

Pokémon
Grovyle Grovyle

Right after you capture it, use one of your Pokémon's Cut Field Move to cut down the bush (don't use Grovyle for this, there's a Treecko to the left if you need it). Go inside the small opening revealed and you'll find another new Pokémon, Lombre.

Facing Mankey and Primeape

Go back down and right to the next screen. You'll see two Mankey and a Primeape attacking the Go-Rock grunt. He brings them right to you so you'll have to deal with them.

Facing Beautifly and Paras

After the capture, there isn't much else to see here, so go back to where you captured the Heracross. You'll see the Go-Rock grunt put up a metal fence, but thankfully you have the perfect Pokémon for the task! Use Grovyle's Field Move to clear the metal fence and move on to the next screen. A grunt will be standing there with two Paras and a new Pokémon, Beautifly.

Beautifly Beautifly

Watch out for Beautifly's Stun Spore attack, as the hitboxes of the spores remain on screen for a good amount of time. Besides that, it should be an easy capture.

After the capture, the grunt will run away and you'll be able to climb the vines. However, you'll have to watch out for yet another new Pokémon, Gligar, as they'll try to tackle you down the vines if they see you.

Pokémon
Gligar Gligar

After you've made it up the vines, you'll see the grunt take Politoed into what seems to be some sort of ancient temple. Though outside there are still two aromatic flowers that require Gust x2 to clear, you don't have a Pokémon that can use this Field Move, so simply chase the grunt into the temple.

Politoed

When you head inside, you'll have to capture Politoed.

Facing Politoed

Watch out for Politoed's high jumps, as it can easily break your line. You may want to use your partner's assist to stun it for a little while to make the capture easier.

Once you've captured Politoed, it'll go back to its owner, and the grunt will run away. When you exit the temple, you'll see Billy of the Go-Rock Quads who will comment on how capturing a Pokémon frees them from the control of the Super Styler, and then leave. You'll then meet up with Percy and Politoed. He thanks you for helping his Politoed return to him, and just like that it's
