Template for MapleStory to show the differences in version content.

Notes

  1. Rankings for each version: KoreaMS, JapanMS, TaiwanMS, MapleSEA and GlobalMS
  2. An extension to the Character Info window. Includes the character's mood, astrological sign, etc.
  3. The KMS version of Guild BB connects to a website using an ingame browser.
  4. Summary of a quest: it tells you immediately in the Quest window what you need and what your reward will be.
  5. An updated version of 'Maple Messenger', it allows you to talk to random people, 'Like' people, and a bunch of other things. It acts as if it were a dating service chat without the romance.
  6. An addition to the regular chat window, it integrates Account Buddies and Chat Rooms. (This is separate from Maple Chat)
  7. An option to switch to a simple view (not to be confused with expanding the mini map image). In this view, the mini map only shows a rough blueprint of the map. There is no image of the map, however platforms and ropes/ladders are indicated by horizontal and vertical lines while you, NPCs and other Maplers are still identified by small pointers.
  8. Available quests are shown on the world map with their respective locations. NPCs also signify the level of the quest with different quest bubbles.
  9. You can level up the Honor stat by completing the Liberation of Aswan PQ. Getting the Honor stat to a certain level unlocks your inner ability. The inner ability awards you extra points in random stats, which can be reset and controlled with cash items, similar to Hidden Potential items. In the Unlimited patch, Inner Ability was renamed to Ability.
  10. Something similar to the Potential System, but the stats under the Additional Potential are already known.
  11. Also called "Bonus Potential". The cubes for changing additional potentials are called "Carved Cubes" in GMS.
  12. Provides big boosts to any equipment. The stats given are shown as Weapon Attack: 5 (+8)
  13. A guide with quests that the character should do between lvl 1 to 60.
  14. Pigmy in Korea. As of v.73, Europe has a new Toy Capsule system. As of v.118, GMS has Gachaperriot which combined all Gachapon systems/machines into one.
  15. Similar to Gachapon and Pigmy.
  16. Similar to Gachapon and Pigmy.
  17. The Cash Shop Surprise was released as a short event from 12/9/2009 to 12/16/2009 in MapleSEA.
  18. Released as part of an event.
  19. A quiz given by the NPC Cassandra. The player must identify the image and will get EXP based on the amount of images answered correctly. Usually available only as an event.
  20. This is available via Enchanted Forest. You can do it once daily and earn 500 Rose.
  21. 21.0 21.1 Removed due to incompatibility issues with the new system (Big Bang).
  22. Released as part of an event in GlobalMS. Note that the Fishing System the Global version had is entirely different than the one other versions have
  23. MTS has been disabled due to hacking problems.
  24. You can only trade cash items gained from a certain box.
  25. Must enter letters/numbers presented in an image in order to log on. Put in place to stop automated bots.
  26. Mini Dungeons for levels 66 and above and Leafre need at least 50 fame to get in, while Gate to the Future needs at least 100 fame to get in.
  27. Manual Report System only.
  28. Gift box that shows up on the left side of your screen that allows you to retrieve rewards, primarily used when given compensations and during Hot Time or Hot Day events.
  29. Buddies are no longer character-bound, they are now account-bound.
  30. Available to all classes from levels 1 to 40 as of Ver.0.83 but removed later.
  31. Cards are no longer in print.
  32. 32.0 32.1 Arkarium only
  33. 33.0 33.1 Overhauled and phased out, with Monster Familiars taking its place.
  34. When using a weapon that has the ability to gain Souls (you can get the ability by adding a scroll to the weapon); you charge your Soul by hitting a monster, your total count will be at the right of your screen, once it hits a certain amount, you can summon the boss' spirit to do a powerful attack for you
  35. The methods for obtaining Soul Stones and the additional stats you get from them are different from the original. Soul scrolls have also been replaced with Soul Enhancers.
  36. Farmville-esque system accessible in game.
  37. Includes Shade, Legendary Mountain Wizard Doll, Witch of the Snow Mountain, Scholar Ghost, Bamboo Warrior etc.
  38. Former bot catching monsters (Snow Witch, Bamboo Warrior, Lich etc.) are now Area Bosses. Furthermore, all bosses are stronger than before. A party EXP bonus is given when hunting bosses in parties.
  39. The Fifth batch of area bosses consists of Skeleton General, Pixiemom, Pepe Queen, Toy Dark Knight, Ghost Centipede, Morion Master, Harpy Master, Birk Master, Choco, Kentaurus King. These monsters are the Cross Hunter targets.
  40. JMS uses Silent Crusade targets for it's Cross Hunter storyline.
  41. In KMS the World Tour Guide no longer takes players to the World Tour region. Still available only to take players there back to the Maple World.
  42. Removed in Patch 1.04. Zipangu is now accessible through the Mirror of Dimension while China and Thailand world tour is removed.
  43. Allows the player to rent weapons from the NPC Matilda, present in every town. The weapon lasts until the player disconnects.
  44. Only available as a cyber cafe bonus.
  45. Removed in patch 0.96.
  46. You can charge NX via Steam Wallet and you can launch MapleStory through Steam.
