The best strategy for defeating Morpha as quickly as possible is to stay off the islands and corner yourself around the perimeter of the room. Use your longshot and Z-targeting to grab the "brain" and strike it with your sword (even better if you use the Biggoron sword). It will attempt to grab you with its tentacles and suck power from you. You'll take damage when you get struck by a tentacle, but you'll suffer even more if Morpha manages to take hold of you and fling you across the room (you can probably avoid it if you stay along the outer wall where its tentacle can't reach you, or just run away). This boss can do tons of damage coupled with the spike wall, so be sure not to get hit. Avoid his tentacles and keep hitting him with your Longshot and then your sword.

When you've done enough damage, Morpha will make things worse and conjure up a second tentacle, trying to catch you off guard while it attacks on its own.
