Looping holes[edit]

See the glitch in action.

In Stage 4 there are two known places where enemies can fall off the bottom of the screen and will then drop back in from the top of the screen in a slightly different location.

Kill Death Adder instantly[edit]

In Stage 6 of the MS-DOS version, if you use your magic as soon as Death Adder comes through the big doors, he will fall through the doorway and into the ground, killing him instantly.

Due to timing differences this may or may not work on faster computers or via emulation.

Hovering knights[edit]

For some unknown reason, the two General Bitters at the end of Stage 7 can walk on the black nothingness of the chasm without falling in, and can even attack from it. If you knock them into it, however, they will fall down. No other enemies can do this, even in this same area.

Death Bringer[edit]

Sometimes, when Death Bringer uses his lightning magic, it is glitched up. Also, when his axe flies up at the end and stabs him, it is sometimes glitched with a purple colour.

MS-DOS version specific behavior[edit]

Speed[edit]

The MS-DOS version is timer-sensitive, meaning it will run faster on faster CPUs. Aside from faster gameplay, this affects AI behavior, and thus the difficulty of the game. On faster systems, the AI opponents appear to attack faster and combo better, making them more difficult than in other versions. On slower systems, the AI can be very poor at times, and it is often possible to systematically defeat opponents using the overheard slash without them offering much resistance. Furthermore it is possible to lure some enemies (e.g., Death Bringer's skeletons) into an infinite loop during which they continue to jump harmlessly behind the player without attacking.

Memory[edit]

On systems with low memory, the game will still run, but some characters will not be rendered, and replaced with other characters (usually skeletons, amazons and knights are replaced with Longmoans). Probably not a glitch, but actually a behavior by design to at least allow the game to be playable.

When run under early versions of MS-DOS, it is highly likely that the Heninger will not be rendered. If this is the case, then all Heningers will be replaced with Longmoans, even in Duel mode.
