There are up to five possible friends to do activities with throughout the game. Once you get a friends "like percentage" high enough, then it will unlock there special abilities (The respect stat has no influence on unlocking special ablilites). Unlike girlfriends, you can only take a friend to activities that they like (These are predetermined and are the same for every game). You can do up to three activities at once. If you accidently kill your friend or they are killed by a police officer because they are drunk, you will get a call from them asking you to pick them up and then return them home. If you kill your friends intentionally, well you can expect them to like you a little less. Doing activities with Little Jacob, Brucie, and Packie count toward 100% completion (Roman and Dwayne don't).

Roman is awake 24 Hours a day.

Free Taxi service: After getting to a like stat of 60% call Roman and he will send you a free cab ride to any where you want to go. Be patient, your cab will come. Abillity drops off at 15%.

Will eat any where at first but later in the game only at high end restaurants. Burger Shot is his favorite place to eat at anytime. Roman has no nightspot preference. Doing activites with Roman doesn't count toward 100% completeion.

Little Jacob is awake from 1pm to 4am. If you call him before he is awake he will lose respect and like for Niko.

Gun Car: Once Little Jacob like stat is up to 75%, you can call him and he will setup a meeting with you where he will sell Niko weapons at a significantly cheaper price than the LCGC. However, don't be an hour or more late otherwise he will leave and Niko won't be able to use the ability for another day. Also, don't go to the meeting with any wanted stars because Little Jacob will leave as soon as you get there because, as in real life, gun running is illegal and he dosen't want to be caught. Drop off of his ability occurs if he likes Niko 40% or less. Don't attempt or even think about stealing his gun car.

He prefers fast food and loves Cluckin Bell. His nightspot preference is Club Liberty in Northwood, Algonquin. Doing Little Jacob's drug delivery also boasts his like stat (if you sucessfully do them).

Brucie is awake (and on the juice) from 7am-1am. Don't call him before he is awake becasue he will lose respect and like for Niko.

Helicopter Pickup: Call Brucie once his like stat is up to 75% and he will fly to the closest location to you and get in his helicopter. He will take you to a predetermined location that you choose (i.e. You can't tell him to land anywhere you want him to). You aren't able to jack the helicopter from Brucie. Drop off is at 40% or less.

Avoid fast food restaurants and try as high end as possible. Any High end nightspot is fine by him. Brucie has two activies that no other friend has in boating and helicopter ride. They are generally the same idea in that you drive the boat (or helicopter) to the location that Brucie says (its the yellow dot) watch the cut-scene and head back. Don't crash the Helicopter because you (1) die and (2) lose respect and like from Brucie. There is no possible way to steal the Helicopter.

Dwayne is awake from 11am-3am. Don't call before he is awake or he will lose respect and like for Niko.

Backup: Once Dwayne like stat is above 60% call him and he will send two (armed) gangsters that will follow Niko until they (or Niko) are dead (Now that's loyalty). Killing the gangsters yourself dosen't seem to make Dwayne lose respect. Drop off is at 30%.

Dwayne pefers high end restaurants, but still loves Cluckin Bell. His nightspot preference is Club Liberty in Northwood, Algonquin. Doing activites with Dwayne dosen't count toward 100% completeion because if you choose to kill him in the Holland Play, then you couldn't complete the entire game.

Packie is awake from 3pm-6am. Don't call before he is awake or he will lose respect and like for Niko.

Car Bomb: Once Packie's like stat is above 75% call him and he will have a bomb waiting for you at a set location (usually in an alley as to avoid detection). Once you have the bomb sneak up to the trunk of any vechicle and follow the on screen instrutions to put it under the car. To detonate the bomb call Packie and select the detonate option and watch the explosion. Drop off is at 30%

Packie loves Burger Shot, Pizza Stack, and Pang. His nightspot preferece is Donnie's Bar. After Gerry McReary is sent to the Alderney State Correctional Facility, Packie has the bad habit of being there when you go to get him for an activity. This happens even if you call him in a place that is really far away from it. You can choose to put the pedal to the metal and pick him up or cancel your plans. Note that he is not always there but is most of the time.
